Why would it happen? At the beginning, we were not really familiar with abacus mental-arithmetic. A friend of mine told me that "Single Hand Abacus Mental-Arithmetic" and "Both Hand Abacus Mental-Arithmetic" would give bad effect to their Maths in school. That means they would make many mistakes in the exams. However, when I went to Intelligent Mental-Arithmetic centre and asked what were "Single Hand Abacus Mental-Arithmetic" and "Both Hand Abacus Mental-Arithmetic". They explained that it's actually the development of left and right brain which helps memory. After our children learned IMA, we discovered that their power of memory became stronger gradually. They used to be using the ancient method to do the Maths. They would write down the number "1" and added "1" again. It caused them to make many mistakes. Therefore, we think the IMA course would build up their power of memory. Besides, they only have to learn or memorize their spelling in a short time because they could absorb and memorize them quickly.
